First printing was 1867, bookplate from Ladies' College, Guernsey, Nicholas Carey Scripture Prize award to Daphni Priaulx July 29 1891. Calf leather with gilt borders, front and rear covers with Nicholas Carey Scripture Prizes, Ladies College Guernsey, and Shield stamped in gilt. Signed binding. Spine with five raised bands/six compartments - five gilt decorated and one with titles in gilt on black. Marbled boards and page edges. Binding is firm and tight but outside front hinge is cracking. Light foxing on feps. 344p. Very clean internally, no marks or inscriptions. There is a small bookplate on the bottom rear inside board from T.B.Banks, College Bookseller, Guernsey.
