A Plain and Literal Translation of the Arabian Nights' Entertainments, Now Entituled The Book of the Thousand Nights and a Night. With Introduction Explanatory Notes on the Manners and Customs of Moslem Men and a Terminal Essay Upon the History of The Nights. [With:] Supplemental Nights to the Book of the Thousand Nights and a Night, with Notes Anthropological and Explanatory. Richard F. Burton, Printed by the Burton Club for Private Subscribers Only. 17 volumes, a complete set. Octavo. Vol. I and II Bassorah Edition No. 754/1000 and Vols. III-XVII Shammar Edition No. 291/1000. The Bassorah Edition volumes are about 1/16 inch taller than the others, and since they are older they are slightly more soiled and the gilt is more rubbed on the top edges. Other than that, the bindings are the same - plain tan cloth with aged paper paste down labels on the spines, top edges gilt, and other edges rough. Volume I has satin tape on inside hinges. There are no inscriptions or bookplates present, internally very clean. Bindings are very solid.
