Third Edition of this wonderfully, profusely illustrated (112 black and white and eight color plates) book using English gardening techniques to set the standard. Heavy, green cloth bound quarto with colorful illustrated pastedown and titles in gilt on front cover. Decorative gilt rose in center of cover also. Gilt titles on spine. Top edges gilt. Half title page. Color frontispiece opposite title page with tissue guard present. Book is in great condition, with only a couple of minor flaws. About a quarter inch of left top corner of pastedown is missing on cover, there is a crease in the fep, and an occassional crease on a page corner. There is the slighest amount of soiling on covers, and very light rubbing of edges and corners. Binding is still tight and solid. Overall ver good, interior is very clean without marks or underlinings. Half Title, Title, Preface, Contents, Illustrations (i-xviii), pp 1-359 text and index, not counting photos and illustrations.
