Claes Oldenburg, by Barbara Rose, the Museum of Modern Art, New York, 1970. First Edition.
Claes Oldenburg, by Barbara Rose, the Museum of Modern Art, New York, 1970. First Edition. Oblong folio with padded Vinyl cover, stating in blue-green print "This Book about the work of Claes Oldenburg was written by Barbara Rose for the Museum of Modern Art". There is "artwork" on the front and back covers that I cannot figure out if it was put there purposely or by accident, it looks like imagery that Oldenburg might have done. This book is a catalogue to Oldenburg's 1969 retrospective exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art .Shocking Pink end papers decorated in little figures of bent screws, cigarette being put out, banana peel, just to name a few. Interior of the book is very clean, 221pp including bibliography and index, followed by page of list of the Trustees of MOMA.
