Cloth a little buckled in spots on the spine, and there is small tear in cloth spine at the bottom of the back of the spine. Binding is very tight and solid, but previous owner studied this book from beginning to end, there is much underlining in black pen and occasional marginalia. Bookplate of William P. Gallagher on inside board. There is a one inch strip of paper that is either from the fep tearing off, or it is the other side of the leaf from the fold out frontispiece map. Half title page and title page present. Preface I-XXXIII, followed by 307pp including Corrigenda et Addenda and Table des Planches listing 43 plates. Table des Matieres and all 43 plates follow.
