Originally published in 1742, and Interestingly all the later editions I have seen from 1754 on seem to have Francaises et Anglaises spelled incorrectly with an "O" instead of an "A". Book is in leather and has been rebound, pieces of original leather have been laid on front and back covers,and there is an original marbled end sheet at end of Part II. Book is in two parts, part one opens with a short letter to Her Highness Madame A Princesse DE*** (i-viii), then pages 1-242. There is a blank separating Part I and Part II followed by Title Page and pages 1-257. There is an inked note or inscription in french at the end of the book on the blank side of the marbled end sheet. Paste down label on spine. Binding is tight and solid, and there are only one or two age spots in the entire book.
