The Bumper Book, A Collection of Stories and verses for Children. Edited by Watty Piper, Pictures by Eulalie, The Platt & Munk Co Inc, New York, 1946. A Beautifully color illustrated second edition of twenty-two children's classics bound in folio. Book is not paginated but there sixty-six pages of color illustrated verses, plus color illustrated endpapers, color illustrated half title page, title page and table of contents. There is even an illustrated "acknowledgement" page at the back of the book. The only thing not illusrated is the back cover, which is solid blue. Verses include many well known such as Wynken Blynken and Nod by Eugene Field, Animal Crackers by Christopher Morley, Christopher Robin is Saying His Prayers by A. A. Milne, the Owl and the Pussycat by Edward Lear, and so on. The Book is in very good condition and is protected in a mylar cover. There is an ink inscription on the ffep dated December 25 1948 "Merry Christmas to Greg from Grandma Jane". The there is small ripple in the cloth on the back cover. The illusrated paper paste down cover has light soiling. Other than the inscriptions, there are no marks in the book. This book will delight any chld. The Bumper Book.
