Compiled for the Use of Naval and Mercantile Engineer Officers of all Grades, and Naval E.R.A.s, and is Specially Arranged for the use of Engineer Officers Preparing for Examinations of Competency at Home or Abroad. 954 Illustrations, Eleventh Edition Greatly enlarged in both text and illustrations. Exremeley thick with 918pp, there are numberous foldouts. Hinges are cracked but still holding. There is a small manual clipped on ffep entitled Notes on the Flash Points and Ignition Temperatures of Heavy Oils by Professor Brame. The initials JWS and 2.9.20 at top of paper, plus some handwritten notes clipped on. There is a foldout frontispiece of Quadruple Expansion Engines of S.S. "Oosterdyk" and "Westerdyk". There is a small one inch tear at tip in and previous owner applied small piece of tape. At top of index there is a name written in fountain pen ink, perhaps Jas.W. Stuart, and then Dunkirk. Small piece of foredge missing at page 193-194. It looks like there had been a piece of half inch tape or cloth on the back cover from top to bottom bound in the book that was used as a carrier, which now only the ends remain. Some small tears of top of spine, edges of book are rubbed and corners are bumped. An Immense amount of work went into this book. "Verbal" Notes and Sketches for Marine Engineer Officers.
